Stove-Top Turkey and Noodle Skillet with Green Chile Cheese Sauce



Ingredients



- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preferred variety)
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 medium baked potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup green chile, chopped (canned or fresh)
- 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups water

Instructions



1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Dice the carrots and celery. Peel and dice the baked potatoes. Chop the green chiles if using fresh. Set aside.

2. Cook the Egg Noodles:
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Add the egg noodles and cook for 6-8 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.

3. Brown the Turkey:
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Sauté Vegetables:
- Add the diced carrots, celery, and diced baked potatoes to the turkey in the skillet.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.

5. Combine Sauce Ingredients:
- Stir in the barbecue sauce and chopped green chile. Mix until well combined and heated through, about 3-4 minutes.

6. Incorporate Noodles and Cheese:
- Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Gradually sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top. Stir until the cheese has melted and coats the noodles and turkey mixture evenly.

7. Cook the Biscuits:
- Preheat a separate skillet or non-stick frying pan over low heat.
- Place biscuits on the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

8. Serve the Dish:
- Serve the turkey and noodle skillet hot, with freshly cooked biscuits on the side.
