Stovetop Korean Beef Quesadillas



Ingredients



- 1 lb Korean beef, thinly sliced
- 4 large butter tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil (vegetable or canola)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions



1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Thinly slice the Korean beef if not pre-sliced.
- Wash and thinly slice the green onions.
- Shred the cheese if not pre-shredded.

2. Cook the Korean Beef:
- Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced Korean beef to the skillet. Stir occasionally for 3-5 minutes, or until the beef starts to brown.
- Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to coat the beef evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the cooked beef, stir, and remove from heat. Set aside.

3. Assemble the Quesadillas:
- For each butter tortilla, sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded cheese on one half.
- Spread 1/4 of the cooked Korean beef over the cheese.
- Top with sliced green onions and a little extra cheese if desired.
- Fold the tortilla over to form a half-moon shape.

4. Cook the Quesadillas:
- Wipe the skillet clean with a paper towel and return it to medium heat.
- Place the folded quesadilla in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining quesadillas.

5. Serve:
- Remove the quesadillas from the skillet and let them cool slightly on a cutting board.
- Cut each quesadilla into wedges and serve immediately while warm.
