Succulent Lemon Paprika Roasted Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 pounds whole chicken, cleaned and patted dry
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 large lemon, juiced and zested
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Prepare the Marinade:
In a small mixing bowl, combine 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1/4 cup of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 2 teaspoons of paprika, the juice, and zest of 1 lemon. Stir to create a well-blended marinade.
3. Season the Chicken:
Place the whole chicken on a large, rimmed baking sheet. Carefully lift the skin over the breast and rub a portion of the marinade directly onto the meat. Apply the remaining marinade all over the skin of the chicken, ensuring it is thoroughly coated.
4. Roast the Chicken:
Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven. Roast the chicken for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (PT1H15M), or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) when checked at the thickest part of the thigh. The skin should be crispy and golden brown.
5. Rest the Chicken:
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes (PT10M) before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring moist meat.
6. Serve:
Slice the chicken into servings and arrange on a platter. Drizzle with any pan juices collected during roasting. Finish with a sprinkle of additional lemon zest for bright flavor.
