Sweet and Spicy Roasted Almonds

Ingredients

- 2 cups whole almonds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to warm up while you prepare the almonds.
2. Prepare the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, honey, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir until the mixture is well-blended and smooth.
3. Coat the Almonds: Add the almonds to the bowl with the honey mixture. Stir until all the almonds are evenly coated with the sweet and spicy mixture.
4. Spread on Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the coated almonds in a single, even layer on the sheet.
5. Roast the Almonds: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Roast for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and stir the almonds to ensure they cook evenly. Return them to the oven and roast for an additional 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fragrant.
6. Cool Down: Remove the almonds from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet. The coating will harden as the almonds cool.
7. Serve or Store: Once cooled, transfer the almonds to a serving bowl or store them in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
