Sweet and Tangy Jalapeño Relish

Ingredients

- 10 large jalapeño peppers, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

Instructions

1. Prepare Jalapeños: Slice the jalapeño peppers into rings. If a milder relish is desired, remove seeds. Wear gloves while handling to prevent irritation.

2. Heat Vinegars and Sugar: In a medium saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, distilled white vinegar, and sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes.

3. Add Seasonings: Once the sugar is dissolved, add the minced garlic, sea salt, and ground turmeric to the vinegar mixture. Stir well to combine the flavors.

4. Cook Jalapeños: Add the sliced jalapeños to the saucepan. Stir gently to ensure all slices are coated with the vinegar solution. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes or until the jalapeños soften slightly.

5. Cool and Store: Remove from heat and allow the relish to cool. Transfer to a sterilized jar or airtight container. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 12 hours before serving, allowing the flavors to meld.
