The Ultimate BLT with Roasted Garlic Aioli



Ingredients



- 8 slices bacon
- 4 cups lettuce (preferably romaine or butter lettuce)
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 3 cloves garlic
- 8 slices bread (your choice of white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions



1. Prepare the Roasted Garlic Aioli:

- Preheat your stovetop grill or pan to medium heat.
- Peel the garlic cloves.
- Place the garlic cloves in a small pan over the stove, on medium heat, and roast them for about 5 minutes until they are golden brown and softened. Remove from heat.
- Smash the roasted garlic cloves into a paste in a mixing bowl.
- Add the mayonnaise to the roasted garlic and mix until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

2. Cook the Bacon:

- Heat a large skillet over medium heat on the stove.
- Place bacon slices in the skillet without overlapping, working in batches if necessary.
- Cook the bacon for about 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until it's crispy and golden brown.
- Once cooked, transfer the bacon onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

3. Prepare Other Ingredients:

- While the bacon is cooking, slice the tomatoes and wash and dry the lettuce thoroughly.
- Toast bread slices in your preferred method (toaster, oven, or stovetop) until they are golden brown and crisp.

4. Assemble the BLT Sandwich:

- Spread a generous amount of roasted garlic aioli on one side of each toast slice.
- Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and bacon evenly across four toast slices.
- Top each sandwich with another slice of toast, aioli side down.
- Press gently to adhere the ingredients. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally, if desired, for easier handling.
