Tropical Guacamole with Mango and Pepper Trio
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup diced mango
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped jalapeño peppers, seeds removed
- 1-2 teaspoons habanero pepper purée (adjust to taste)
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped chili peppers, seeds removed
Instructions
1. Mash the Avocados: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the peeled and pitted avocados with the salt. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados until you reach the desired consistency (smooth or chunky, based on preference).
2. Add Lime Juice: Pour 2 tablespoons of lime juice over the mashed avocados. This not only adds flavor but also prevents the avocados from browning.
3. Combine Vegetables and Herbs: Add the chopped onions, diced tomatoes, diced red bell pepper, and finely chopped cilantro into the bowl with the avocado mix. Fold gently to combine.
4. Incorporate Mangos and Peppers: Gently mix in the diced mango, chopped jalapeño peppers, chopped chili peppers, and habanero pepper purée. Ensure the distribution is even for balanced flavors.
5. Adjust Seasoning: Taste your guacamole and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or lime juice as needed. For more heat, consider adding more habanero purée or jalapeño.
6. Chill and Serve: Cover the guacamole with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent browning. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite snack.
