Ultimate 8-Cheese Stove-Top Macaroni Delight
Ingredients
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Gouda
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère
- 1/2 cup shredded Fontina

- 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese
- 1/4 cup smoked Provolone, shredded
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
Instructions
1. Cook Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil on the stove.
- Add 1 pound elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, following package instructions (approximately PT8M / 8 minutes).
- Drain the pasta and set aside.
2. Prepare Cheese Sauce:
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons salted butter.
- Stir in 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, whisking continuously for about PT2M / 2 minutes to form a roux.
- Add 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon ground mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon white pepper. Stir well.
- Gradually pour in 4 cups milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to whisk and cook for PT5M / 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
3. Incorporate Cheeses:
- Reduce the heat to low. Slowly add:
- 1 cup sharp cheddar
- 1/2 cup Gouda
- 1/2 cup Gruyère
- 1/2 cup Fontina
- 1/2 cup Provolone
- 1/2 cup Mozzarella
- 1/4 cup Brie
- 1/4 cup goat cheese
- 1/4 cup smoked Provolone
Stir constantly after each addition until all cheeses have melted into a smooth sauce.
4. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce.
- Stir until all the macaroni is well-coated with the sauce.
5. Finish with Flair:
- Add 2 teaspoons of hot sauce to the macaroni and cheese mixture.
- Mix thoroughly to ensure an even distribution.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
- Spoon into serving bowls and serve immediately while warm for the ultimate creamy experience.
