Ultimate Seafood Boil with Potatoes, Corn, and Sausage
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound crab legs
- 1 pound crawfish, cleaned
- 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
- 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 8 cups water
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Begin by thoroughly rinsing the seafood (shrimp, crab, and crawfish) under cold water. Halve the baby potatoes and slice the sausage into 1-inch pieces. Cut the corn into thirds.
2. Boil the Potatoes:
In a large stockpot, add 8 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of salt, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the baby potatoes and cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until just tender.
3. Add Corn and Sausage:
Add the corn and sliced sausage to the pot. Continue boiling for an additional 5 minutes.
4. Introduce the Seafood:
Gently add the shrimp, crab legs, crawfish, and Old Bay seasoning into the pot. Stir to combine, ensuring the seasoning is well distributed. Cover the pot with a lid and continue boiling for 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through (shrimp should turn pink and opaque).
5. Finish with Butter:
Turn off the heat and stir in the butter until melted. Let the mixture sit covered for a few minutes to enhance the flavor.
6. Serve:
Drain the seafood boil and transfer to a large serving platter or newspaper-lined table for a rustic presentation. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
