Ultimate Summer Refreshment: Watermelon, Cucumber & Herb Infused Water
Ingredients
- 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced
- 4 cups watermelon cubes, deseeded
- 2 lemons, thinly sliced
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- 5 fresh basil leaves
- 1-inch piece of ginger, thinly sliced
- 8 cups cold water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Slice the cucumber into thin rounds and set aside.
- Cut the watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds, and set aside.
- Slice the lemons into thin rounds.
- Gently rinse the mint and basil leaves under cold water to ensure they are clean.
2. Assemble the Infused Water:
- In a large pitcher or jar, combine the sliced cucumber, watermelon cubes, lemon slices, mint leaves, basil leaves, and sliced ginger.
- Pour 8 cups of cold water over the ingredients in the pitcher.
3. Let the Flavors Infuse:
- Cover the pitcher tightly.
- Place it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. For maximum flavor, let it infuse overnight.
4. Serve the Refreshment:
- Once infused to your liking, serve the water cold over ice cubes for an extra chill.
- Garnish each serving with extra mint or basil leaves if desired.
5. Reuse the Ingredients:
- The fruits and herbs can be reused for another round of infusion by adding fresh water. However, for the best flavor, it's recommended to use fresh ingredients after the initial infusion.
