Vanilla Brown Sugar Sour Cream Cake
Ingredients
- For the Cake:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- For the Frosting:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Baking Pans:
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Set them aside.
3. Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, and fine sea salt. Set aside.
4. Cream Butter and Sugars:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
