Warm Apple Cinnamon Crumble with Dulce de Leche Drizzle
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 1/3 cup dulce de leche
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F.
2. Prepare Baking Dish:
Lightly coat an 8x8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Prepare Apple Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, cornstarch, apple pie spice, and a pinch of kosher salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
4. Make the Crumble Topping:
In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and remaining kosher salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. This is your crumble topping.
5. Assemble the Crumble:
Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples, ensuring an even layer.
6. Bake the Crumble:
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
7. Add Dulce de Leche:
Once baked, remove the dish from the oven. Drizzle the warm dulce de leche evenly over the top of the crumble.
8. Serve:
Allow the dessert to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm for the best flavor.
